Charlie is a Tree Walker Coonhound, neutered male, approx. four to five years old and weighing about 75 lbs.
Charlie is a gentle giant who is well-behaved, mild-mannered and very sweet. He’s fine with other dogs. We don’t know about cats. Charlie is NOT a hunting dog, nor does CDHA adopt out dogs to be used for hunting.
He loves to receive kisses and hugs. He puts himself into his crate for daytime naps atop a cushy comforter (better than the sleeping arrangements at the shelter) and sleeps in the closed crate at night. He travels well in the crate, too. He loves to be with his humans and gets along with the other dogs in his foster home. We don’t know about cats.
He reacts well to correction. A simple No or “uh uh” works but may need to be repeated a few times.
Charlie is strong and does need leash training. He needs to be walked with a harness so he doesn’t hurt himself. He has his playful times and then settles down for a snooze. He is a thief, so watch your kitchen towels
