Maddie is sweet, quiet, well-behaved, and gets along well with other dogs. She was recently treated for heartworm, and although her treatment has been completed, the vet recommends that she be kept quiet for the next few weeks.  No rigorous exercise.  So, no climbing the peaks of the Adirondacks for a while,  She is a doll.

She came from a hoarding situation where she was one of 28 other dogs that were rescued.
Echo is very shy until she comes to know and trust you.  She then comes out of her shell, is playful, and wants to be held and loved. Anyone wanting to adopt her must be willing to give her time to adjust to her new home.  She would do best in a home with another dog.   Echo adores children.  She also loves being held and babied.

Josie had been bought as a therapy dog for the family’s disabled daughter, but dealing with a puppy and a disabled child proved to be too much for them to handle. Anyone wanting to adopt a puppy from CDHA needs to have a flexible schedule or to not work full time.  No first-time adopters for Josie.

Max (aka “Mr. Mann” ) is a terrific fellow who gets along well with other dogs 9we don’t know about cats) and is sweet and affectionate.   If he were to go to a home with a fenced yard, that fence would have to be high enough that he couldn’t jump it.

Chewy is a lovable, sweet baby who wants to have fun. Anyone wanting to adopt a puppy should have a flexible schedule or should not work full-time. He recently lost his home because he had been given away by people who irresponsibly bred their dog and then gave away the resulting puppies. Chewy’s adopters weren’t prepared for the work of raising s puppy. Chewy came to us unneutered and wasn’t receiving the exercise or attention he needed.

This little man is just about the perfect dog. He’s good with everyone and as sweet as they come. As a point of interest, he is a blanket lover, thus appreciating the opportunity to snuggle in a soft, cozy spot.

This tiny fellow just lost his home because his mistress went into a nursing home. We’d like to see him be adopted by someone who knows and loves Yorkshire Terriers. Buju is a good fellow and will make a terrific friend for the lucky person chosen to adopt him.

He’s currently on a special food to help him gain weight.

She’s a doll who is good with everyone. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where 24 dogs were being kept under horrific conditions.
